3. Facial Recognition & Verification
Premium Verification (Optional)
Premium users can opt-in to enhanced verification using:
- Facial Recognition: We use AWS Rekognition to verify that profile photos match your identity
- Liveness Detection: Confirms you're a real person during verification
- Government ID: Optional verification using government-issued identification
Biometric data is processed securely and used solely for verification purposes. You can delete this data at any time by contacting ask@avokindo.com.
4. Information Sharing
4.1 With Other Users
- Your profile information, photos, and bio are visible to other users
- Your approximate location (city/region) is shared for event discovery
- Messages are shared with matched users only
4.2 With Third Parties
- Firebase/Google Cloud: Backend infrastructure, authentication, storage
- RevenueCat: Subscription management (Apple/Google)
- AWS Rekognition: Facial recognition and verification (premium users only)
- Analytics Providers: Firebase Analytics for app performance monitoring

- Active Accounts: Indefinitely while account is active
- Deleted Accounts: Most data deleted within 30 days; some retained for legal compliance (up to 7 years)
- Messages: Retained as long as both users have accounts
- Analytics Data: Aggregated, anonymized data retained indefinitely
8. Children's Privacy
Avokindo is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from users under 18. If we discover a user is under 18, we will promptly delete their account and data.
9. International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred and stored in countries other than your own. We use Google Cloud Platform (Firebase) with servers primarily in the United States. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data.
